Reflections - The Journey of Raising Successful Kids by Leading by Example
By constantly challenging myself and showing my kids what is possible, I became the superhero they aspired to be, even in the face of my own struggles and moments of depression.
Imagine two teenagers making their mark in the tech world. One, an 11th grader, is already involved in a startup and writing open-source software. The other is a 9th grader, an author of two books, competing in coding contests, and contributing to the open-source community. Both have stood confidently on stage, addressing large tech audiences, and their written words have graced significant tech publications. These are my sons.
Every parent beams with pride at their children's achievements. But beyond the accolades and the applause lies a deeper story. How did we nurture such curiosity and drive? Through trials, errors, and relentless perseverance, I've realized the power of leading by example.
Golang:
Introduction to Coding with Golang It wasn't about jumping onto a tech trend; it was about discovery. When I began experimenting with the Golang programming language, its simplicity and potential caught my sons' attention. Their journey into the coding world was more about shared exploration than classroom instruction.
Rucking:
Physical Challenge Meets Mental Fortitude Hauling 50-pound backpacks up and down stairs at home wasn't about flexing muscles. Inspired by "The Outlive," and "The Comfort Crisis," it became a lesson in resilience. Every step tested our stamina, showing us that strength wasn't just physical.
